Energy infrastructure under attack in the region
Ukraine's energy systems have come under increased strikes in recent weeks

Throughout the evening, Russian aerial assaults have led to blackouts in multiple districts of the capital city, Kyiv.

Several individuals were wounded while residents in the city's east were plunged into darkness and faced interruptions to water supplies, according to local authorities.

At the same time, a minor was killed in a distinct aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, based on information from area administrators.

Russian forces has escalated attacks on energy facilities over the past few days, while the country's government has demanded "real steps" from international partners to apply pressure on Russia.

"What's needed is not symbolic gestures but strong steps - from the US, European nations and the G7 - in supplying air defence systems and implementing penalties," mentioned in a social media post.

Officials stated that 450 drones and more than 30 projectiles attacked the country's power systems, labeling such assaults as "premeditated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as the weather cools.

Energy officials said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and technical staff were striving to fix the damage.

A wave of strikes hit electrical systems and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people hurt in the assaults on the city have been transported for medical care, per statements from city authorities.

Area administrators said the city came under significant strikes throughout the evening. A minor lost their life and multiple civilians were wounded.

The strikes come after nights of aerial attacks in the area, parts of which are occupied by Moscow's military.

The whole nation is under warning for advanced weapon attacks, which are more difficult to identify.

Authorities told reporters that Russia was deliberately attempting to damage the country's energy grid, with attacks already disrupting energy systems.

Officials stated utility staff and officials were anticipating additional strikes.
